Aquaculture

In the last few decades, over the course of the worldwide overfishing, aquaculture developed into an alternative to cover the increasing human demand for fish.

One type of aquaculture production is the so-called land-based aquaculture, where the production takes place in complex recirculating systems. In such systems, the water is continuously treated, achieving optimal life conditions for the animals.



Recirculating Aquaculture Systems

In so called recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) the excretions are converted into harmless forms to the cultivated organisms through mechanical, chemical and biological filter stages. These types of systems enable nowadays an intensive culture of e.g., fish or shrimp, with optimal rearing conditions and minimal water consumption. In contrast to open culture systems (e.g., net cages or ponds), the RAS systems reuses the process water.

Protein Skimmer Helgoland

The protein skimmers of the Helgoland series are of particular importance in aquaculture systems. Sander protein skimmers can remove the finest particles and thus it is possible to achieve clear water in aquaculture and fish farming systems. Depending on the size of the aquaculture system, Sander protein skimmers are designed for a water flow of approx. 3 m³/h to approx. 990 m³/h and are manufactured in different diameters, from 250 mm up to 3000 mm. The models Helgoland 250 mm to 500 mm are built in transparent acrylic glass. From a diameter of 600 mm, polyethylene (PE) is used as standard material. PE is a valuable material that is resistant to sea water. All Helgoland models are designed for the use with ozone. You can find more information under FOX.

Aquaculture Module System AMS

The AMS is a robust and compact aquaculture system with neomar oceanloop® technology. Suitable for different production capacities in fresh, brackish or seawater environments, the AMS can also be used for broodstock, as a quarantine unit, as a holding system, or for research purposes. The system is also suitable for the production of shrimp.

Protein Skimmer Fresh-Skim Injector

Ozone Generators Multizon

In aquaculture systems that work with very little water exchange, the use of ozone is necessary. Our ozone generators of the Multizon series, in combination with protein skimmers of the Helgoland or Fresh Skim Injector series, are the perfect solution to mix the ozone with the water. The ozone generators of the Multizon series are fully automatic and manufactured in accordance to the German DIN 19627 standard. The units are cooled by air and the standard version is designed for a vacuum operation. A manufacture for pressure operation is possible.

The Multizon series can produce, depending on the size, between 5 and 500 g/h of ozone at a concentration of approx. 20 g/m³.

RASalt®

Sander has developed its own salt mixture, especially for aquaculture systems that work with artificial seawater.

RASalt® is based on a long-term experience and has all salts and minor elements for the production of a high-quality seawater.

Rest Ozone Decomposer

Sander rest ozone decomposers are designed for the use with Sander protein skimmers Helgoland, Fresh Skim, and Fresh Skim Injector series.
