The Aquarium System Technology for middle seized and larger aquariums demands special requirements on design and construction. In difference to many other scopes of water treatment there are no standards in the aquarium water treatment, on which the plannings can be based.

And: Someone with experience in fish breeding and keeping is not automatically specialist of aquarium system technique. On the other hand, specialists for water treatment techniques lack the experience in the fish sector.

We are familiar with both scopes. Since 1962 Sander has been producing small ozonizers and accessories for the aquarium technique.

In Kiel, Germany, in 1972 Sander designed and constructed the first public aquarium with a water treatment plant based on the skimming technique and ozone.

Since 1976 Sander has been producing ozone generators for industrial water treatment, e.g. for swimming pools, mineral water, breweries, greenhouses, waste-air, waste water, cooling towers etc.

Therefore experiences of two normally completely separated special fields are joined together.

The knowledge of the partly very complex connections of the process' inside the aquarium and the experience of industrial applications enable the systematic and secure design and construction of aquarium systems. However, the connection of technical relation ships of hydrodynamics, water chemistry, electrical engeneering, pneumatics, measuring technique and more is of essential importance for the success of a professional water treatment plant for aquariums.

Everthing begins with the design: Architects, technicians, biologists, finance consultants and other specialists sit together at one table talking about the same thing. Everybody lives in his own world. At this point we try to make links. By presenting design documets, like: basic flow charts, piping plans and calculations, assembly drafts, cross sections and different plans of views, as well as - last but not least - a cost estimation, we provide a basis on which the development of the project can advance. This can only become successful, if "team work" is the leading principle.

And: The customer is king. Nobody knows the as well as the customer. Design and construction are fixed on this aim. We mind more than our own business. Ozone generators, protein skimmers and measuring units as well as other sub-assemblies are all produced by ourselves. Other important parts, like pumps, large sand filters, heating and refrigerating technology are arranged with selected specialized companies.

In any case the customer gets exactly the product and the system he requires.
